King of the Wind by Marguerite Henry

Agba is horseboy in Africa. He takes care of his favorite horse, Sham. Sham has two spots: one is for good and one is for bad. When the King orders Agba to take sham to France to give Sham to the King of France, they must go on a terrible, wonderful, and amazing journey from the throne room to the race track. I really like this book. Some parts are sad, but I really like it.
