The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle

My teacher had our reading groups read this book because it is one of her favorite books. I like it too. In this book a prim and proper thirteen year old girl, Charlotte, boards the seahawk, to sail to America. That is a big mistake. Charlotte is the only girl on a crew of dirty sailors. That is why she befriends Captain Jaggery, the only gentleman on board. But someone else is trying to become friends with Charlotte. Zachariah, the old cook, is telling her things about the captain, and Charlotte doesn't know whom to believe. Soon trouble starts when mutiny and murder creep toward the seahawk, bringing with them plenty of mystery, suspense ,and action.
