Jahanara is the eldest daughter of Shah Jahan, emporer of India. She has fantastic riches, yet she and her family are prisoners in their own home. This is the doing of Nur mahal. Nur Mahal has also taken Jahanara's two brothers, Aurangzeb and Dara. Jahanara has a large family. She goes through many things to escape Nur Mahal. This book was very interesting because things were very different in India. I liked how i could feel like i was the princess.
